The missile racks are easily damaged, and should be quickly targeted in missile heavy configurations. It's limited torso twist speed and range, along with it's unremarkable turn rate will hinder it in close range fighting, especially against more agile, hard hitting mechs such as the Thor. The arms are well protected, and make difficult targets due to the design of the chassis. The center torso carries no weaponry however, and such a tactic will usually result in severe damage being done to the attacker. The prominent nose is a tempting target, and is easily hit from almost any angle. An extremely agile 75 ton battlemech, it can make an effective dogfighter due to it's heavy firepower. While the Mad Cat MKII can be fully optimized for ballistic weapons and has jump jet capability, the Mad Cat is better suited for long range fire support or sniper roles. Configured for a missile support role, up to 10 slots can be used. The Mad Cat excels as an energy only design, with 12 weapons slots available for this purpose. 4 Omni slots can be used to enhance it's capability at any range, and as all 4 are contained in the torso, they are very survivable. While first appearances would seem to indicate a second line mech optimized for missile support, the Mad Cat is an extremely capable Clan Omnimech and is readily configured towards any mission.

Its only weakness is that you can't install jump jets. A blend of firepower, armor, speed, and maneuverability, no 'Mech portrays the Clan ideal of military superiority as the Mad Cat does.
